Using advanced field scanning technology, Soil-Electro-Conductivity creates accurate maps for variable rate fertilizer application. This ensures that Ph, P & K is applied exactly where it’s needed rather than blanket spreading at one rate across the field.

How Soil-Electro-Conductivity avoids waste and increases application accuracy

IDM Services will scan your field on a 24m bout using the best in class Veris system. Electro-Conductivity probes enter the soil up to depths of 90cms to analyse its characteristics. From this initial scan, a 3 stage process leads to ultra accurate nutritional guidance specific to your field.

Step by Step

1. Raw data is transformed into a map detailing field variation. Each shade represents soil with different characteristics.

2. Your field is zoned into areas of soil similarity. Each zone is sampled in a W formation (not grid system) for extra accuracy, then the samples are sent to the lab.

3. Analysis results are converted into a fertiliser application rate map, ready for use by any leading GPS. (IDM Services recommend BlackBox VRT for best results.)

NSTS CROP SPRAYER TESTING

IDM Services are the leading Crop Sprayer Testers in Cornwall. We’re an accredited NSTS sprayer test centre and are able to carry out a full test and repair service on all crop–spraying equipment. We strongly recommend that your crop sprayer equipment is tested every year.

The cost of worn or damaged nozzles alone, that deliver only 5% above the recommended rate can be equal to £5.75 per hectare in a crop of winter wheat. This has been calculated as a loss in yield and/or quality at harvest.

IDM Services offer a comprehensive agricultural contracting service to farmers across Cornwall and Devon. specializing in forage harvesting of grass, wholecrop & maize as full or part operations. With 13 ton trailers and a high capacity buckrake we ensure whatever your crop, it’s harvested, transported and ensiled efficiently and to the highest standard.

 For 2009 we now have a direct cut mower bed header for whole crop harvesting. All cereals, pulses and any combi-nation of crops, including those under sown can be cut with ease ensuring the entire crop is saved with one cutting and processing operation. We use the Class Orbis Maize Header for harvesting.
