Horsch Focus TD Strip Till

Ensure high yields, conserve your soil & optimise fertilisation

As a strip till drill, the Focus cultivates only in the seed rows. As a result, it enables you to combine deep soil loosening, fertiliser placement, seedbed preparation and sowing in one pass, with a 6m working width. It’s a hefty machine with a 5000l split fertiliser and seed capacity (60:40) atop the tine and disc rows, with a mid range power demand of 240hp.

Because of the targeted fertiliser placement offered by strip till cultivation, you may well find that not only does it offer a consistently high yield, even when you’ve had challenging weather, but it saves on fertiliser in a way that increases year on year.

How the focus works

Zone I: Soil cultivation

  • Deep soil loosening, exactly below the seed rows
  • Exact definition of the root area
  • Harvest residues are removed from the root area
  • Fertiliser-depot placement below the seed rows
  • Transport of wet soil into the germination horizon

Zone II: Concave discs

  • Can be adjusted to various modes of operation:
  • Levelling and closing slots
  • Forming ridges

Zone III: Tyre packer

  • Defined, deep consolidation
  • Creation of soil contact
  • Optimum seedbed preparation in front of the seed coulters

Zone IV: Seed coulters

  • Sowing into wet soil that is free of harvest residues
  • TurboDisc seed coulters for a precise seed placement
